ABOUT DAVE BERG
Dave Berg has been making guitars for over 50 years, and very seriously the last 10 years. Born and raised in the SF Bay area, Dave played in bands since 1966. Dave became a dentist in his 30’s, and specialized in implants in Sacramento, CA.
He retired and moved to Utah in 2020, where he set up his dream production area in the entire large basement area of his new home, which includes a special paint room and showroom.
He uses only top quality cuts of rare woods from around the world in his construction of guitars. Dave has at least 10 unique features in the creating the world’s top playing, and most excellent looking guitars that are each one off, one of a kind works of art. He now makes about six guitars per year as each guitar requires hundreds of hours to complete to his high specifications, technically and artistically.
Guitars have the best placed pickup to capitalize on strings resonating frequency location. Guitars are very light weight, 5 to 6 lbs, as they are hollowed out. The inner areas are 100% copper lined throughout for zero noise in circuitry.
Custom nuts to keep strings in tune all along the fretboard. Unique edge routing and many lacquer coats applied over a period of months, to allow for proper curing between coats. Utilizing up to 10,000 grit sandpaper prior to final coats applied.
